Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 11, 2026

Welcome to outsidetonight (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website, mobile platform, and ephemeral planning services (collectively, the “Service”).

Unlike traditional platforms, outsidetonight is built to be ephemeral. Our core philosophy is that your social plans belong to you and your crew—not our database.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

To protect your privacy and reduce friction, our Service is engineered to minimize data collection:

  • No User Accounts: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide a password to use or join a plan.
  • No Persistent Social Graphs: We do not track who your friends are, your contact lists, or your permanent relationship networks.
  • No Long-Term Location Tracking: We do not track your precise GPS coordinates in the background.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

We only collect the absolute minimum data required to make your tonight-only group plans function seamlessly:

  • Ephemeral Plan Data: When you start or join a plan, we temporarily collect the votes, vibe selections, and group choices made during that session. This data is stored in volatile memory for the sole purpose of synchronizing the plan with your group in real-time.
  • Temporary Display Names: When joining a plan, you may enter a temporary display name (e.g., “Jordan”) so your crew knows who voted. This name is purely conversational and is not tied to any permanent identity.
  • Business and Investor Inquiry Information: If you explicitly request a private briefing, we collect your name, email address, organization, lead type, and any Los Angeles market context you choose to provide. We use this information only to evaluate and follow up on a potential Outside Tonight business, pilot, strategic, or investor relationship.
  • Technical Data: We automatically log basic technical information required to maintain server performance and uptime (such as anonymized IP addresses, browser types, and device types).

3. The 7:00 AM Hard Purge (Data Retention)

Our architecture enforces a strict expiration policy:

  • Daily Deletion: Every single group plan, vote, and temporary session object created on outsidetonight automatically expires and is permanently deleted from our active databases at 7:00 AM local time every morning.
  • Inquiry Data: Your business or investor inquiry is retained securely while we evaluate and manage the relationship. You may request deletion or opt out of outreach at any time.

4. Sharing of Information

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or email addresses to third parties.
  • We may share anonymized, high-level aggregate trends (e.g., “1,200 groups voted for rooftop lounges in Silver Lake this weekend”) with venue partners to improve local event curation. This aggregate data contains absolutely zero individual user information.
  • We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations.

5. Security & Infrastructure

We utilize industry-standard, highly distributed edge networks and caching layers to ensure your temporary data is encrypted in transit and safe from unauthorized access. Because we do not store passwords, financial data, or persistent profiles, the risk of data compromise is inherently minimized.

6. Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR Compliance)

Depending on your location (including California), you have rights regarding your data. However, because our systems automatically purge active plan data every morning at 7:00 AM, we generally do not hold or possess any identifiable records or historical data to look up, modify, or delete upon request. For durable datasets like business and investor inquiries, you can request immediate deletion at any time by emailing us.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect structural changes in our architecture. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
